Who Gave You Permission to wait?

There are founders in this Lagos with more knowledge in their head than any consultant charging ?500k a session and zero online presence to show for it. No content, no trail, no reason for a stranger to find them. Then there's someone else, half the experience, consistent posting schedule, and they're the ones getting the calls.
That's just showing up.
Authority for a small business owner doesn't mean going viral or else building a personal brand that makes you cringe. It means that when someone has a problem you solve in a WhatsApp group, in a referral conversation, in a Google search at 11pm when they're ready to spend, your name is the one that surfaces. That's it. Everything else is noise.
The reason most founders stay invisible is the same reason most things don't happen. They're waiting. Waiting to feel ready, waiting for the business to reach a certain size, waiting for something impressive enough to say. But that threshold doesn't exist. The founder posting something honest and specific about their industry every week, still learning, still building is compounding quietly while you wait for permission that was never coming.
You don't need a content calendar or else a social media manager to start. You need one true thing to say about a problem your customers have. Post it where they spend time. Say it in your own voice, not the voice of every other motivational business page. Then do it again next week, and the week after.
Reputation is just consistency over time. The people who look untouchable in your industry didn't start with more, they just started earlier.
Don't let someone with less to say own your space before you do.
