Delegation for Control Freak Founders

Shigohub Team -
You hired people. Good ones. But you're still the last stop on every decision, every deliverable, every minor customer complaint three other people could have handled before it reached your desk.
And the worst part? You built this situation yourself, slowly, one 'let me just handle this' at a time.
It made sense in the beginning. When it was just you, your standards and your hustle were the product. Customers chose you because you personally showed up in every detail. But what kept you alive in year one is quietly suffocating you in year three. The business grew. Your grip didn't loosen.
Most founders get delegation wrong the same way they hand something off once, it goes sideways, and they conclude their team simply can't handle it. So, they take it back. The team stops trying. And now you've accidentally trained everyone around you to wait for your input before breathing.
Delegation is a system, not a prayer. Your team needs to know exactly what done looks like, have a documented standard to work from, and enough room to execute before you swoop in. Remove any one of those and you're just temporarily outsourcing your anxiety.
Ask yourself honestly, if you vanished for two weeks, what breaks? Whatever came to mind first, start there. Not because you're going anywhere, but because anything that collapses without you is a risk your business cannot afford to carry.
Your most valuable contribution is thinking, deciding, building. Every hour spent doing what someone else could be trained to do is stolen from the work only you can do.
Loosen the grip. The business will finally breathe.
